Meet Trustee Andrea Lowe

Andrea Lowe serves as the Trustee for Area 2 on the Lander County School District Board of Trustees, representing the Austin community. A lifelong resident of Austin, Andrea graduated from school locally and now proudly sends her own children to Austin Combined School. She is a stay-at-home mother of three children, including six-year-old twins, and is deeply connected to the families and students in her community.

Andrea’s dedication to service began with more than eight years volunteering with the Austin Fire Department and EMS, an experience that strengthened her commitment to supporting her community. Her personal connection to Austin Combined School inspired her to join the board, where she advocates for students’ needs and works to ensure a safe, stable, and high-quality learning environment. In her first year, she has helped secure funding for essential upgrades at the school and supported programs that provide free meals for all students, while prioritizing improvements like reliable heating and cooling systems.

For Andrea, public education is the foundation of opportunity. She is committed to protecting and strengthening rural schools, ensuring every child in the district has access to the resources they need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. Outside of her board work, Andrea enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and listening to music, and she proudly carries on her family’s deep Austin roots as a seventh-generation resident.

“Our children are the heart of this district, and every decision we make is with their future in mind. Every child deserves safety, opportunity, and the highest quality education. Together, we are building a stronger, brighter future for all of our kids! I’m honored to stand beside you in that work."
